Many jazz clubs have struggled during the recession and some have had to close. Fleece Jazz are determined not to go the same way - so are staging a fund-raising day to secure the future of this wonderful club. We hope for the support of very best names in Jazz.

Michael and Carole Burgess went to London on Wednesday night, and collected our award. They had a great night, and we are very, very proud. It is 16 years of achievement awarded.

We have moved to Stoke by Nayland Club

As you probably know, we are now at Stoke by Nayland Club. The venue is excellent: accessible, both bar food and fine dining, lots of parking.
We had a stunning first gig is with Martin Taylor and Alison Burns.

We are here every Friday at 8pm with world class musicianship on show.

I was home with a cold last night, and according to Gerry, missed a very good gig. The information below is from Gerry.

The whole band was superb, and the small audience had a lovely time. Julian was amazing on the clarinet, and played soulful sax; Gerry told him after that it was a bit like Junior Walker, and he took it as a compliment). Dominic Ashworth had an array of stomp boxes and two guitars, including a classical guitar, but the sounds were not hugely distorted. With his height, Chris was always destined to be a bass player, and was excellent, as was Mike Bradley on drums.

Technically it was a pretty easy gig, Gerry said. I do miss doing it. Maybe soon.

All reports on the restaurant have been very good indeed.
